Wahl H2O - Rural Water Awareness
When not connected to a municipally fed water supply, you are solely responsible for the quality of water flowing from your tap. If you reside in the country do not assume the quality of your water by the way it tastes, smells or looks. Most contaminants are dissolved in water and do not have an odour. A water source plays an important role in determining the water quality. There is no requirement for ANY water quality sampling to be conducted, without proper testing, it is not possible to know the level of water contamination. Most people are completely unaware of the risks as it is not common public practice. Water Quality changes with seasons, precipitation, human activities and other contributing factors.
