The plastic water meter doesn't require power and utilizes a reed switch that provides a dry contact closure to the PCM that actuates the pump. The plastic meter is sold separately as a component for use in a proportional feed installation and is certified with the Water Quality Association under NSF/ANSI 372.

I have one at my cottage that cracked on the bottom over the winter. Can you just buy the bottom piece? It looks like the top can screw off.

NO you cannot purchase just the bottom piece. The Stenner meters do not come as individual parts and are only available as a complete meter.
