Q: Would this filter work on 20" Big Blue filter system? What is the expected time between filter changes? Also, is this filter reusable once it is cleaned?

A: Yes this filter will work for standard Big Blue 20 inch filter housings. It is not meant to be cleaned frequently is able to be cleaned a couple of times and reused. The length of time for a change depends on your water quality and can be 3, 6, 9 or 12 months.

Q: Is the pleated filter BII-Pleated 1-Micron Sediment Filter GPPE2-01 better than BB20 String Wound 1 Micron Sediment Filter 14GSWP201? I have only use the string wound filters in the past and read that the pleated filters provide better water flow.

A: A pleated cartridge is better when coarse sediment is present in the water as it will fall to the bottom of the housing allowing for better flow. A string wound filter is the same micron size from the outer to inner portion and can be restricted with coarse sediment coating the outer surface restricting flow in some applications.
