Q: How much would this filter reduce flow or GPM?

A: This filter housing has 1" internal flow throughout. It will not reduce pressure unless the element becomes dirty or coated with sediment which would result in a temporary pressure loss until the element is cleaned.

Q: How to clean the filter. May I use bleach? vinegar? something else?

A: Cleaning the element in the Boshart Standard Filter requires you turn off the water prior to the filter and relieve the pressure by opening a tap in your home until the water stops. Remove the element from the filter housing and use a soft brush to clean off the screen from particles. If this does not remove all of the material, it can be soaked in a mild bleach or vinegar solution. If the solution is too strong, it may damage the element.

Q: What is the difference between the standard bowl and the separator bowl (elongated style)? Thanks!

A: Each bowl is designed for a different style of Element (Filter) for the 1" series. The elongated bowl for the Separator is designed to hold the Separator Element up high while allowing debris to collect in the bottom half.
These are typically used on systems which bring up a lot of sand or debris and need the extra space in the housing before a cleanout can be preformed.
