For the Ultimate Fibreglass Well Tank, Look no Further!
The Flex-Lite FL series' improved CAD2 diaphragm design is stronger and won't crease and wear out like bag designs. Flex-Lite well tanks features a chlorine resistant 100% butyl diaphragm with a precision molded copolymer polypropylene lower water chamber for superior air and water separation. This patented design allows each size tank to have a properly sized water chamber, matched to the drawdown performance of that tank. When it comes to performance and durability, the CAD2 system cannot be beat.

Q:
what should the air press. be set at for my FL 7 22gal. tank. the water limit switch is set at a max. of 60psi.
Asked by:
george sitek
- 9/23/2020
A:
The air pressure when the pressure tank is empty should be 2 pounds less than the pressure that the switch turns on at. For example, a 40 to 60 PSI pressure switch would have an air charge of 38 PSI in the pressure tank when it is empty. It is important to have your tank empty of water when making adjustments as a full tank will not read correctly for it's pre-charge air pressure. Your switch is cutting off at 60 and there is usually about a 20 PSI difference between kick on and kick off pressures.
Set the air pressure to 38 PSI.

Q:
Does the fl7 require air to be put into tank from time to time. If so how often and what psi.Cut in pressure set at 40 psi cut off pressure set at 60 psi. Thank you
Asked by:
Frank
- 9/9/2023
A:
Air should be entered into the FL7 pressure tank only when the tank is empty of water. Do not add air when the tank is full of water. The pre-charge pressure of air should be 2 PSI less than the kick on air pressure set on the pressure switch. For 40 PSI on the kick on setting, this would be 38 for the air setting. If air is required to add at an ongoing basis, the internal bladder most likely has a leak and the tank will need to be replaced.

Q:
We recently purchased Flexcon FlexLite Fl7 22 gallons pressurized tank. After one week of use, we cannot use two water fixtures together ( toilet and vanity or washing machine and toilet at the same time) The tank looses all its pressure and I need to reset the tank. We have a very little cottage with not many water fixtures. There is lots of water in our well . Pressure is set at 38 psi. There was no problem with previous device but it was starting to rust. We like that this tank is fibreglass.
Asked by:
Brian Ganim
- 9/1/2022
A:
The proper setting for the pre-charge of air in the FL7 Pressure Tank is 2PSI less than the kick on pressure. For example if the pump activates at 30PSI then the pre-charge air pressure would be 28PSI. It is important to note that air pressure should be set when the tank is completely empty of water. From new, the FL7 comes with a setting of 38PSI air charge. This will need to be adjusted to the value which is 2PSI less than the kick on pressure. If the air charge is not set correctly, your pump and pressure tank will not function correctly and could be the cause of the issue you are experiencing.

Q:
Is the air chamber is replacable , can we take it out to put a new one in it
Asked by:
Jonathan Ten Have
- 10/14/2019
A:
The Water Chamber and remaining space (Air Chamber) are not replaceable. The tanks are completely sealed and there is no way to access the internal pieces. It is possible to add air through the valve at the top of the tank. The instructions to do so are in the Installation Manual which can be found in the Product Details.

Q:
I have one of these I would like to replace. What is included with this and do I need anything else
Asked by:
Scott
- 6/1/2021
A:
The FL7 model comes in the box with the 1" MPT Sch80 piping connection. You will require the necessary plumbing connections for the water inlet and outlet. If this exists already, you can simply replace the tank. If you are unsure, we suggest that you have a qualified installer take a look to ensure that things are completed properly.

Q:
what's the cut in and cut out psi for this tank set at
Asked by:
Mary Peterson
- 9/4/2021
A:
The tank is pre-charged at 38 Psi but would require a pressure switch to be installed to determine the cut in and cut off; the most common pressure switches are 30-50 & 40-60.

Q:
Can a flex lite FL7 be used on its side and if so, how would it be drained for winterization?
Asked by:
Jim
- 3/21/2022
A:
Yes, an FL7 can be used on its side. The tank is pressurized, therefore it would drain by itself if it is installed with the 3 inch tank fitting package OR plumbed in such a way that there is a drain at the tank.

Amber - Customer Service (5/24/2022)
Q:
Your Q+A section has an answer that says that you can instal the FL7 on its side. But in the owners and installation Manual it says it must be installed vertically??? So please which is it. The cottage I bought has it installed on its side, based on crawl space height at that point, and when the system is charged the tank still does not seem to weigh anything at all. It is easy to juggle around indicating no water weight in it. I feel my pump cycles more than it needs to, and that my system pressure is only based on water in the lines and none actually being in the tank. I am trying to diagnose the issue. And your answer will tell me when cu direction to go next.
Asked by:
Chris Snelgrove
- 9/11/2022
A:
The recommendation from the manufacturer is to install the tank vertically when possible. If not then the tank can be installed horizontally and they sell a mounting bracket kit for these applications. If your pump is cycling repetitively with very little time before starts again then it is possible that the bladder inside the tank has ruptured and the air charge is no longer present. To diagnose this, turn off the power to the water pump and empty the water completely from the tank. Use a pressure gauge to measure the air charge from the valve at the top of the tank. Typically the air charge should be between 28 and 38 PSI. If there is no air pressure or a low PSI value, the tank will have to be replaced as the bladder inside may have ruptured and is not replaceable. If you are not comfortable with this procedure, consult a licensed plumber in your area who can assist you with this.

Q:
Jean-Yves Bouchard 418-776-2754
Asked by:
JEAN-YVES BOUCHARD
- 11/23/2023
A:

Q:
How much pressure should the fl7 flex lite tank have
Asked by:
Gator
- 2/9/2024
A:
The pre-charge air pressure (PSI) should be 2 pounds less than the kick on pressure as set by the pressure switch. For example a switch that turns on at 30 PSI and off at 50 PSI should have 28 PSI of air set when the pressure tank is empty.
