Bacteria

Rural water supplies have a higher risk for E-Coli or Coliform Bacteria to be present. Surface water containing animal waste and leaching septic systems are the primary factors that contribute to finding these microbiological contaminants in a water supply. The rock structure of Manitoulin and the lack of soil depth in some areas increases the chances for movement between water supplies.
At Wahl Water Treatment we encourage you to have your water tested for Bacteria by the Sudbury and District Health Unit regularly. The test is available free of charge and samples can be taken to the Health Unit office in Mindemoya. |
