Sediment Cartridges and Activated Carbon Cartridges (commonly known as charcoal) are the most common types used for water treatment.  Sediment cartridges are used to remove particles in water and Activated Carbon cartridges remove taste and odours from water improving the water quality. Specialty Cartridges are used for specific contaminants and bacterial removal.

Selecting the correct filter cartridge for your application can be challenging. Activated Carbon filters should always have proper sediment filtration ahead of them. Fine sediment filters should not be used when coarse sediment will block them prematurely. Ultra Violet Lights require 5 Micron filtration. 1 Micron is significantly smaller than 50 Microns.
